About
Ted's Run for Literacy — "the little race that could" — returns for its 17th annual edition on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at Kildonan Park in Winnipeg. The community road event honours teacher and running coach Ted Swain with 10K, 5K, and 2K options, raising funds for LiteracyWORKS and CanU through The Winnipeg Foundation.
It's a fully inclusive run/walk/wheel event and part of the Manitoba Runners' Association Celebration Series. For Winnipeg road races and more Winnipeg races, it's a compact fall fundraiser with a long local track record.

Course
Out-and-back courses start at the Fox & Deer Shelter in Kildonan Park. The 2K stays entirely within the park on a single loop. The 5K exits at Scotia Street, proceeds down Scotia Avenue to a turnaround near 328 Scotia Avenue (water station), and returns. The 10K continues past the 5K turnaround to St. John's Park for one loop before returning. A water station and porta-toilet are at St. John's Park on the 10K route.
