Terms of Service

The Running Directory lists running races and run clubs in Canada so you can find them in one place. It is free to use and free to list.

Listings are for information only. We don't organize the races or clubs we list, and a listing is not an endorsement. Dates, prices, start times, courses and meeting points can change. Always confirm the details with the organizer before you register, travel or show up.

Registration happens on the organizer's own site or registration platform. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for them.

You can sign in with your email address. Keep access to that email secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us if you think someone else has used your account.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the site or other people at risk.

When you send us a race, club, correction or other content:

• You confirm the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it, including any photos or logos.
• You give us permission to publish, edit, format and display it on The Running Directory and in our newsletters and social posts, and to keep it there after you stop using the site.
• We check submissions before publishing and may edit, decline or remove any listing at our discretion.

If you organize a race or club and want to update or take over your listing, contact us through the contact form. We may ask you to show that you're connected to the event before we make changes.

Please don't:

• send false, misleading, spam or unlawful content;
• impersonate an organizer or another person, or claim a listing you aren't connected to;
• copy the directory in bulk, or scrape or crawl it in a way that slows the site down or ignores our robots.txt;
• try to break, overload or get around the security of the site or our forms.

The site design, text we write and the way the directory is put together belong to Finlayconn Ventures Limited. You're welcome to link to any page and share individual listings. Race and club names, logos and photos belong to their owners.

We work to keep listings accurate, but we can't promise every detail is complete, current or error-free. The site is provided “as is” and may sometimes be unavailable.

Running and racing carry a risk of injury. Taking part in any event or club run is your decision and is between you and the organizer.

To the extent the law allows, Finlayconn Ventures Limited isn't liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for losses caused by relying on a listing, a cancelled or changed event, or a third-party site. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be limited.

We may change or stop parts of the site at any time. If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Ontario.
