About
Tally in the Valley Trail Race brings a full weekend of trail racing to Dundas Valley Conservation Area in Hamilton. The event is built around a 7 km loop through Carolinian forest, with options that range from shorter trail efforts to long ultra-distance challenges.
It’s a familiar summer fixture for Ontario trail runners, with formats that suit both first-timers and experienced ultrarunners. The race sits in Happy Trails Racing’s trail series and is part of the broader trail races in Hamilton scene.
The 2026 program includes a mix of fixed-distance, timed, and elimination-style events across July 25 and 26.

Course
The race uses a 7 km loop in Dundas Valley Conservation Area. The route runs on groomed double-track trail with packed dirt and gravel underfoot, and the profile is rolling rather than mountainous.
Expect steady ups and downs throughout each loop, with roughly 130 metres of elevation gain per lap. The course direction changes from year to year, which gives repeat runners a different line and feel on return visits.
