About
The Wise Raven Trail Race returns to Waterloo in October with a small-field trail day at Camp Heidelberg on the K-W Optimist Club property. The event is limited to 115 spots and supports Run-Walk-Roll for WRHNCC with any money left after expenses going to that initiative.
Runners choose from a looped format that keeps everyone close to the action: 5K, 10K, 25K, 50K, a 6-hour challenge, or a 6-hour relay for teams of 2–4. The relay starts later in the morning, while the other distances and the timed challenge begin together at 8:00 a.m.
It’s a straightforward trail day with a local feel, a marked forest loop, and a community-minded finish. The race is also sanctioned by Athletics Ontario.

Course
The course uses a 2.5 km loop through well-marked forest trails at Camp Heidelberg in Waterloo. The opening section is fast and flat, then the route moves into short technical stretches with rocks and roots, plus a few rolling hills.
Each loop gains about 45 metres. Runners can keep a drop bag at the covered aid area, and the event is cup-less, so bringing your own bottle is part of race-day logistics. Parking is available, and dogs and alcohol are not allowed on the property.
