2026 Trail Party: Walk, Hike, or Run for rare

The 2026 Trail Party returns Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Riverbluffs Park in Cambridge. Hosted by rare Charitable Research Reserve, this #StepUpforNature fundraiser invites participants to walk, hike, or run along the Grand Trunk Trail while raising funds to protect environmentally sensitive lands across Waterloo Region and Wellington County.

Registration includes education stations along the route, a celebratory BBQ lunch at the ECO Centre, live music, and a shuttle back to Riverbluffs Park. Kids 12 and under register free. For more trail races in Cambridge, it is a September community fundraiser on the Walter Bean / Grand Trunk Trail corridor.

Walk follows the accessible Grand Trunk Trail from Riverbluffs Park to the ECO Centre. Hike explores side trails off the main corridor with rugged terrain (no dogs or strollers). Run continues past the ECO Centre turnaround for a 5K out-and-back on hard-packed trail and stone dust. Parking is at Riverbluffs Park only.
