The Runway 2026

The Runway returns to the Region of Waterloo International Airport in Breslau on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Run Waterloo hosts this unique airport tarmac experience with 2 mile and 5 mile timed races plus a kids' 200m fun run, all sanctioned by Athletics Ontario.

Warm up on the taxiway, then run counterclockwise loops on the runway with a water station at the finish line. Finisher medals are guaranteed; optional technical shirts are available during registration. For more races in Waterloo, it is one of the region's most distinctive late-summer road events.

Runners complete counterclockwise loops on the airport runway. The 2 mile uses one Strava-documented loop; the 5 mile starts halfway through that loop and completes two additional full loops. A water station is at the finish line (5 milers pass it twice). All participants must be off the runway by 12:00 p.m.
