2026 SCPC Chilly Chase 5K 10K Half

The 21st annual SCPC Chilly Chase takes place Sunday, January 25, 2026 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Organized by Try Events in partnership with the Strathcona Community Policing Centre, the Chilly Chase has been a winter fixture in the city for over two decades and attracts local runners, walkers and charity supporters looking for an early-season goal.

The event is a single-day race with 5K, 10K and half marathon distances. Race-morning starts are tightly scheduled: the half marathon begins at 9:00 a.m., the 10K at 9:03 a.m. and the 5K at 9:08 a.m. Same-day package pick-up is available from 7:30–8:45 a.m. (by donation to the charity), and the course runs as out-and-back loops so competitors can expect straightforward navigation and quick splits.

What sets the Chilly Chase apart is the course and community focus. All routes run along Vancouver’s Seawall — a flat, fast stretch of waterfront with winter views around Science World — and entry includes a souvenir finishing medal (while supplies last), a swag item, individual timing and post-race snacks. The event supports the Strathcona Community Policing Centre, features random prizes and presents overall placing medals for the top three finishers (winners must be present to claim awards).
