About 2026 Northumberland Turkey Trot
The Northumberland Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Monday tradition in Cobourg, bringing together runners, walkers, kids, and families for a community-focused morning. The 2026 edition takes place at Cobourg YMCA, with event proceeds supporting the YMCA Strong Communities Campaign.
The day includes a free Gobble Wobble for children 4 and under, the Wing Ding 1K Kids Fun Run, and timed 2.5K and 5K events. There’s also a Choose Your Own Adventure option for people who want to take part on their own terms.
It has a distinctly local feel, with costumes encouraged, a Golden Drumstick award for turkey spirit, and a schedule built around a relaxed fall race-day rhythm. If you’re looking for more events like it, see Cross Country races in Cobourg.
