The Trail du Coureur des Bois de Duchesnay présenté par Hoka is a premier trail running event held annually at the scenic Station touristique Duchesnay in Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, Quebec. Since its inception in 2014, the event has grown into one of the region’s most popular trail races, drawing over 2,300 participants in recent editions. The event is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere, inclusivity, and the beautiful natural setting that surrounds the courses.
Participants can choose from a wide range of distances, making the event accessible to everyone from young children and beginners to experienced ultra runners. The event is sanctioned by Athlétisme Québec and features partnerships with other major trail races, offering additional incentives and recognition for top performers. The courses wind through lush mixed forests, offering technical challenges and breathtaking views of Lac Saint-Joseph and Lac Sergent, ensuring a memorable experience for all.

Course
The courses at Duchesnay traverse a diverse mix of terrain, including technical single-track trails, groomed paths, and sections of snowshoeing and cross-country ski routes. Runners encounter roots, rocks, and small wooden bridges, making for a technical and engaging experience. The 48 km ultra course features approximately 1,530 meters of positive elevation gain, while the 34 km and 25 km courses offer 950 meters and 750 meters of elevation gain, respectively. All routes are set within a beautiful mixed forest, with scenic lake views and a variety of natural obstacles.
