Hornby Island 2026

The Hornby Island race is a spring trail running event held March 14, 2026 on Hornby Island, British Columbia. Organized by Coastline Endurance Running, the event brings the promoter's Vancouver Island trail pedigree into the Gulf Islands for a day of off‑road running on coastal island trails.

The 2026 edition runs as a single‑day trail event across Hornby Island's network of paths and technical singletrack. Runners should expect a race that leans on natural island terrain rather than paved or urban routes — the course navigates narrow singletrack, short stretches of double track and sections that demand careful footing.

What sets Hornby Island apart is the setting and local support. Courses thread through stands of Arbutus and moss‑covered forest floor, with pockets of ancient coastal BC forest giving a distinctly Pacific Northwest feel. Coastline stages this event alongside its other Vancouver Island races and leans on a strong volunteer base and local partners, creating a community‑minded atmosphere that highlights island trails rather than flashy extras.

Registration for the 2026 Hornby Island race is listed as sold out. Prospective entrants should watch Coastline Endurance Running announcements for future editions and waitlist or next‑year opportunities.
