The Castle Alpine Trail Race (CAT) is a challenging 28 km trail run featuring 2,250 meters of elevation gain across two mountain summits and an alpine valley. Held at Castle Mountain Resort, the course offers a mix of wide-open vistas, rugged singletrack, off-trail running, and significant climbing. Participants can race solo or in relay teams of 2 to 3 members, with each leg starting and ending at the resort. September weather can vary widely, from snow and cold winds to heat, so proper preparation is advised.

The event also features aid stations with water and snacks along the route, as well as live music and other activities following the race.
