About
The Royal Road Race returns to Regina on Saturday, May 9, 2026 — the 12th annual edition organized by the Jaleta Pacers in partnership with the RCMP. Held on Mother’s Day weekend, the event has grown into one of Saskatchewan’s signature road races and has donated $301,883 to local charities since it began.
The race is a single-day road event held entirely on the RCMP Training Academy grounds. Distances and categories include 5K and 10K races, a 5K walk, a 5K wheelchair division and a 1K Mini‑Mountie for children. The weekend’s schedule centers on Saturday’s race day, with mass starts for the competitive distances and separate starts for the walk, wheelchair and kids’ events.
What sets Royal Road Race apart is its combination of a fast, competition‑friendly layout and community focus. The course, run entirely inside the RCMP Academy, produces quick times — the 10K course record stands at 29:14 — and the race supports local charities through its long-running fundraising efforts. Organizers mark Mother’s Day with special recognition: the fastest mother in each of the 5K and 10K receives a tribute gift, and all 5K and 10K finishers receive Hillberg & Berk sparkle ball earrings as a memento of their finish.
Registration offers an early‑entry discount and the event sets field limits to preserve the on‑site experience: 600 spots for the 5K/10K field, 150 reserved for RCMP members and cadets, and 100 entries for the Mini‑Mountie kids’ race. Runners and families aiming for a spot are encouraged to register early given these caps.
