About
The 120th Dartmouth Natal Day Road Races take place Monday, August 3, 2026, on Natal Day weekend in downtown Dartmouth. One of North America’s oldest road races, the event offers 2-mile and 6-mile options on a loop around Sullivan’s Pond and downtown Dartmouth, starting and finishing at Christ Church on Ochterloney Street.
The 2026 course follows the adjusted 2025 route to avoid construction. Both distances are on the 2026 Run Nova Scotia Road Race Series. Competitive runners, recreational joggers, and walkers are welcome. For more road races in Halifax, it’s a long-standing community tradition on the August long weekend.

Course
Start and finish at Christ Church on Ochterloney Street. The 2-mile race is one loop; the 6-mile race is three laps of the modified 2-mile loop (same route as 2025). Race Roster publishes a turn-by-turn course via Ochterloney, Crichton, Hawthorne, Portland, Pleasant, Prince Albert, Irishtown, Queen, and Alderney. Much of the course is open to traffic with police and marshal support; organizers note reduced police coverage after 9:30 a.m.
