About
Fat Dog 120 Trail Race returns to Manning Park, BC with a weekend of long-distance trail running in the southern Coast Mountains. The event is known for its point-to-point format, moving runners from the Keremeos side of the range to Lightning Lake in E.C. Manning Provincial Park.
The 2026 lineup includes 120-mile, 100K, and 40-mile options, each built around remote single-track terrain and sustained climbing. It’s a demanding mountain race with a distinctly British Columbia feel: big views, technical trail, and long stretches well off the road network.
For runners looking at the broader local trail scene, it sits firmly among the tougher trail races in Manning Park.
Course
The course runs point to point from near Keremeos to Lightning Lake Day Use Area in E.C. Manning Provincial Park. It uses mostly remote, technical single track and climbs from valley bottoms into subalpine terrain, with long sections far from road access. The full route is about 124 miles, with cumulative elevation gain just over 8,000 metres. Start times are 10:00 AM for 120 miles, 8:00 AM for 100K, and 9:30 AM for 40 miles.
