About
Diez Vista is a long-running trail ultra held each April around Port Moody, British Columbia — the 2026 edition takes place on April 11. Founded by local trail runners and stewarded by the Coast Mountain Trail Running community, Diez Vista has run since 1997 and marks its 28th year in 2026. The race has a loyal following and a reputation for classic North Shore-style terrain and tough, rewarding climbs.
The main event is a 50 km point-to-point loop that starts and finishes at White Pine Beach on Sasamat Lake in Belcarra Regional Park. Runners gather for a mandatory pre-race briefing at 7:45 a.m. and the 50K field starts at 8:00 a.m. A separate Kids Race of roughly 1 km runs later in the morning at 11:30 a.m. Packet pickup is available the day before at Runners’ Den and on race morning at the beach.
What sets Diez Vista apart is its mixture of ridge views and wet coastal forest — runners climb and descend roughly 2,000 metres (about 6,500 ft) over roots, rocks, mud and gravel service roads, hitting signature landmarks such as the Diez Vistas ridge, the suspension bridge at Buntzen North, and the cheeky FUG (“F‑You‑George/Gary”) stairs back into Sasamat. The race offers full aid stations with fuel options on course, a single drop bag service to Aid Station #3, a post‑race sushi and BBQ, and a kids’ event that raises optional donations for Butterfly Support Network.
Entries for 2026 are sold out; interested runners should watch future registration windows if aiming for a future edition.

Course
The 50K starts and finishes at White Pine Beach, Sasamat Lake in Belcarra Regional Park. Terrain is mixed west‑coast rainforest singletrack and gravel service roads with roots, rocks, mud and some smooth trail — expect stair sections and steep ridge climbs. The route takes runners around Sasamat Lake, up onto the Diez Vistas ridge, down to Buntzen Lake (crossing the suspension bridge at North Beach), and along Pumphouse Road, Energy Trail, Academy Trail and Eagle Bluff before returning to Sasamat. Confirmed aid stations and notes: AS #1 (DV Saddle, water only) at ~8 km; AS #2 (Buntzen North) at ~15 km; AS #3 (Buntzen South Gazebo) at ~21 km — drop bag delivered here; AS #4 (Equestrian Lot) ~29 km; AS #5 (Eagle Mountain Rd) ~35 km; AS #6 (Pumphouse Rd) ~42 km. The course is well‑marked but physically demanding with sustained climbs and technical descents.
