About the Trapline Marathon
The Trapline Marathon is a captivating running event set in the heart of North West River, Newfoundland and Labrador. Participants will experience stunning fall colors, scenic roadways, and the warm hospitality of the local community. With a flat, road-based course, this marathon offers a smooth and enjoyable run for all levels of runners. 🍂
Race Distances:
- Marathon (42.195 km): Challenge yourself on the full distance from North West River to Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
- Half Marathon (21.097 km): Enjoy a half-distance run through Labrador’s picturesque landscapes.
- 10 km: A great option for intermediate runners looking to push their limits.
- 5 km: Perfect for beginners and those seeking a shorter, yet rewarding challenge.
- Kids Race (1 km and 3 km): Fun and accessible routes designed for participants aged 12 and under. 👧👦

- 📍 Start Location: The race kicks off in North West River and concludes in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, showcasing the best of Labrador’s scenery.
- ⏰ Start Times: While exact start times vary, participants should note the two-hour road closure from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM and adhere to the 6-hour and 30-minute course time limit.
- 🏞️ Course Highlights: Runners will traverse landmarks such as Hamilton River Road, Otter Creek, Birch Brook Nordic Ski Club, and tackle the challenging Minipi Hill located approximately 9 km from the finish line.
