Tackle the Toad 2026

About
Tackle the Toad is a trail ultra hosted on Toad Mountain / Morning Mountain just outside Nelson, British Columbia. The event focuses on mountain trail running through cedar forests, technical singletrack and exposed alpine ridge running with expansive views of Kootenay Lake.
The race traditionally takes place in late June and offers two distances - a 20 km and a 50 km - with significant climbing and technical terrain. Official registration and timing have historically been handled via Zone4; confirm current-year dates, course maps and runner information on the Zone4 event page or by contacting the organizers.

Course
Courses are fully trail-based featuring technical singletrack, steep climbs and technical descents through cedar forest and rocky alpine ridgelines on Toad Mountain / Morning Mountain. Expect mountain-running conditions with up to roughly 2,500 m of vertical gain (distance-dependent).
