The Full Range — 60KM Solo
Folding Mountain Ultra 2026

About
The Folding Mountain Ultra takes place June 6, 2026 on the eastern edge of Jasper National Park in Yellowhead County, AB. The race centres on Folding Mountain Landing — a small mountain village that includes Folding Mountain Brewing, Jasper East Cabins and Jasper East Hostel — and combines big-Rockies terrain with a festival-style finish line. Race check-in and package pickup happen the day before at Jasper East Hostel.
The event offers two main options: The Full Range (61 km, 2,430 m elevation gain) and The Folding Ascent (25 km, 1,086 m elevation gain). Both distances start at 7:00 AM with a mandatory pre-race briefing at 6:45 AM. The 61 km can be run solo or as a two-person relay with the exchange at base camp; the longer course is presented as two distinct legs (a 35 km Cap Ridge Loop and a 26 km Folding Mountain Trail). Friday evening check-in and an all-day post-race village atmosphere make this a compact, two-day festival.
What sets Folding Mountain Ultra apart is the setting and local flavour: steep, technical trails that climb through alpine forest and exposed ridgelines with panoramic views of the Fiddle Range and the Athabasca Valley, a short but technical scree section near the summit, and a finish line framed by a working craft brewery. Entries include a race-branded tee and finisher’s medal, on-course nutrition and hydration, post-race food and beer, and a donation to Hinton Search and Rescue. The course also threads historic routes used by overlanders and trappers, giving the race a frontier-history feel alongside modern endurance running.
Entries for the June 6, 2026 race are sold out; registration originally opened November 21, 2025 with an early-bird window through December 31, 2025.
