2026 The Island Run

The Island Run takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026 in Cardigan, PE, starting at the Cardigan & Area Baseball Complex. It brings runners, walkers, and bikers together for a community event with a scenic PEI setting. Set along Section 27 of the Confederation Trail between Cardigan and Montague, the route offers a beautiful trail experience with 12K and longer Island Walk distance options, plus a walk format. The event also includes lunch in Montague and supports Upper Room & PEI Food Banks.

The course follows Section 27 of the Confederation Trail between Cardigan and Montague, offering a scenic trail route with an out-and-back style experience centered on PEI’s trail network. It is designed as a non-chip-timed event focused on enjoying the landscape at your own pace.
