2026 Reconciliation Run

The 2026 Reconciliation Run takes place on Saturday, September 26, 2026 in Birtle, Manitoba. This meaningful event brings runners, walkers, and community members together in honour of Survivors and all those who never made it home. Choose from in-person, virtual, and satellite formats. The in-person course is a point-to-point route that begins in Birtle and heads out along town streets and backcountry gravel and dirt roads toward Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation, creating a powerful day of movement, reflection, and community.

The in-person route starts on 9th Street in Birtle, about 250 metres south of the former residential school, then continues through town before heading onto backcountry gravel and dirt roads toward the outskirts of Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation. The course is point-to-point, with marked turns, bicycle lead support, volunteers along the route, portable washrooms, bag drop, and medical support on course.
