2026 Emperor's Challenge

Emperor’s Challenge returns to Tumbler Ridge, BC on August 8, 2026, bringing runners back to the mountain trails of the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark. This iconic race offers a challenging 20 km mountain run plus kids’ 2 km and 4 km options, with a course that climbs Babcock Mountain, strong volunteer support, and a finish-line atmosphere that has made it a local favourite.

The 20 km course climbs Babcock Mountain from the South Core Lodge Road area, with significant elevation gain and five water stations along the route. The course is marked with orange stakes and roman numerals, and mountain weather can change quickly at race elevation.
