For over four decades, the Royal Victoria Marathon has welcomed runners to the stunning coastal capital of British Columbia. Known for its festive atmosphere and strong community spirit, this fall race weekend is a true celebration of endurance and personal achievement. Each year, thousands of participants gather to take part in a variety of race events, whether chasing personal bests or soaking up the scenic routes through historic neighborhoods and along the Pacific Ocean.

Held on Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, the event showcases the charm and support of Victoria’s residents. With cheering zones, post-race celebrations, and a historic downtown start line, the Royal Victoria Marathon offers something for every level of runner. From newcomers to seasoned racers, the series includes everything from 5K events to the globally recognized Marathon, and is proud to serve as a Half Marathon destination and Boston qualifier.

The course features fast, paved routes through the heart of Victoria and Oak Bay, with scenic stretches past the Inner Harbour and along the waterfront. Rolling sections are balanced by long flats, making it ideal for both personal records and first-timers. Enthusiastic spectators line many portions of the course, creating a high-energy experience. Bib pickup is held at Crystal Gardens during the weekend expo, and capped registration for main events ensures a smooth race-day flow. Certified by Athletics Canada and sanctioned by World Athletics, the event maintains high standards in safety and organization.
